Breaking down ingredients

Uncompromising in our approach to efficacy, each active used in a Wildsmith Skin formulation comes with its own raft of clinically proven and industry acknowledged benefits - individually they are impressive, together they are power houses.

Here are some of our favourites - what they deliver, how they do it and where you can find them,

COPPER PEPTIDES

Before diving into Copper Peptides it's helpful to understand what peptides are and what results you can expect from them.

Made from chains of amino acids - naturally produced in the skin and often found in skincare - Peptides are true heroes triggering collagen production, issuing signals to encourage protection, increasing hydration within the upper layers of the skin and helping strengthen and repair.

There are four different types of peptides: enzyme inhibitor peptides, signal peptides, neurotransmitter inhibitor peptides, and carrier peptides.

Copper Peptides are carrier peptides, known to deliver important trace elements to the skin and which consist of amino acid and copper, two naturally occurring substances in the skin. Delivering copper to the skin's enzymes not only helps to stimulate collagen and elastin resulting in a smoother, firmer complexion. It also delivers anti-inflammatory properties to the skin cells which help aid the skin's natural repair process that as we get older becomes impaired resulting in skin scarring and marking. And if that wasn’t enough, they also are powerful antioxidants and have the ability to increase hydration levels by increasing the production of molecules that help water bind resulting in plump, glowing skin.

For best results apply daily (morning, evening or both), you can find Copper Peptides in our Active Repair Copper Peptide Serum, Active Repair Copper Peptide Cream and Active Repair Platinum Booster.

HYALURONIC ACID

This moisture magnet is a naturally occurring substance, that can effectively and efficiently deliver 1000 times its own weight in moisture into the upper layers of the skin.

Working like a sponge, when applied to your skin the water binding properties of Hyaluronic Acid attract water from its surroundings and the atmosphere. Helping to give an immediate bounce, glow and shot of hydration to skin, long-term it also helps to maintain elasticity, reduce inflammation, repair damaged skin as well as helping smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Use morning and or evening and pay attention to if your skin is feeling tight and taught, as this is a sign of dehydration. You’ll find Hyaluronic Acid in Double Clay Refining Mask, Time-Release Pre-Serum Drops, 4d Protection Serum, Active Super Eye Serum, Active Repair Copper Peptide Serum, Active Repair Copper Peptide Cream and Active Repair Platinum Booster.

VITAMIN C

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants which helps your skin protect itself from harmful environmental damage, such as pollution, UV rays, car exhaust fumes all of which produce damaging unstable scavenger molecules known as free radicals and which love your skin.

Short-term it is the skin barrier, lipids and cell membrane walls that are the most vulnerable to free radical damage which we experience as dullness, dehydration, and dryness. However, long-term this damage filters through to the collagen, elastin and supporting proteins that essentially provide structure and firmness to the skin and we start to see the appearance of lines and wrinkles, slackness and hyperpigmentation.

Vitamin C is not only about protecting the skin, it is also known to bring instant radiance and brightness to the skin, boost collagen and help breakdown existing pigmentation.

For the best results apply daily and ideally in the morning - you can find Vitamin C in our Active Repair Nourishing Cleansing Balm, Energising B5 Gel Cleanser, Time-Release Pre-Serum Drops and Active Super Eye Serum.
