Reviewing your skincare routine at the beginning of a season is what our Wildsmith Skin experts advise. Just as your wardrobe changes and we switch out heavy knitwear and coats to lighter fabrics and jackets and we see our food choices move from comfort food and winter soups for warmth, energy, and nourishment to salads and spring vegetables such as asparagus.
This winter your skin could have suffered from breakouts due to wearing face coverings or the constant central heating may have zapped the moisture from your skin, leaving it feeling parched, dehydrated, dry and possibly sensitive in areas. Do not be surprised, as we move further into spring, if your skin appears like it has lost its vibrancy, radiance and glow and seems to look dull, grey and is lacking in lustre.
Cleansing - the cornerstone to your skincare routine
Cleansing will always be a key part of your skin care routine all year round. But if you have noticed winter has left your skin feeling particularly compromised, lacking in plumpness, hydration and nourishment our Wildsmith Skin Nourishing Cleansing Balm will be the perfect antidote. Kukui butter immediately brings comfort, smoothness and softness to the skin, whilst hydrating and preventing further water loss. For skin that feels stressed, Calendula oil has been a trusted ingredient for centuries, known for its incredible healing and anti-inflammatory properties, it immediately brings comfort, relieves redness, and reduces sensitivity. And now, with our Energising B5 Gel Cleanser, you have the option to cleanse, hydrate and protect against oxidative stress as part of a single or double cleanse with Nourishing Cleansing Balm.
The power of plants
Bringing together, firstly the power of plants – English Mulberry, being grown on the Heckfield Estate, is rich in Vitamin C, delivering brightening properties and helping to protect against oxidative stress. And secondly the power of science with a natural surfactant system and foaming technology supported by hydrating humectants including glycerin and Vitamin B5. Utilising natural foaming technology, the gel texture turns to a delicate foam when combined with water to remove all impurities and enable maximum absorption of the active ingredients in your next skincare step. Skin is left invigorated without feeling dry or taught, thanks to the natural surfactants and a pH level (pH5.3) which closely mirrors the skin’s own, nurturing its protective barrier.
How to combine a double cleanse into your routine
- Warm 2-3 Wildsmith Skin spoons of Nourishing Cleansing Balm on fingertips, smooth on to a dry skin, massage for 60 seconds, add tepid water for the balm to turn to a milk. Rinse well or remove with warm damp Wildsmith Skin muslin cloths and pat dry.
- Apply 1-2 pumps of Energising B5 Gel Cleanser to damp skin and massage onto the face in a gentle circular motion to create a lather. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
- Follow with your chosen serum and moisturiser or Super Oil.
