Working in partnership with our suppliers to implement responsible manufacturing and production practices, that minimise disruption to the natural world. For example, our design process starts by thinking about the end life of an item and its recyclability to help us choose how it is packaged.
RECYCLABLE PACKAGING
Our Bath Collection is made from aluminium which can be recycled directly back into itself, over and over again. A truly closed loop.
We offer 1 litre aluminium refills for our Hand Wash and Lotion. Keep the aesthetic of our 300ml and top up, and up and up.
We use fully recyclable paper which can be recycled in local facilities / your home recycling bin.
We do not use any glazing or embossing on our packaging which would interfere with its ability to be recycled.
PRODUCT PRODUCTION
We partner with scientists, innovators, growers and formulators who share our principles.
We make our outer packaging in the UK, in small scale batches to reduce wastage.
We are proud to be working with artisan potters in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of English ceramics to create our stoneware packaging.
Our product manufacturers use a complete biomass system which removes our heating dependency on fossil fuels, saving 85 tonnes of carbon every year.
PROVENANCE
Our respect for the environment drives us to formulate products that work at nature’s speed.
Where possible we source ingredients that are locally grown using biodynamic principles guided by the rhythms and cycles of the earth, sun, moon and stars to bring energy, vibrancy, vitality and health to our formulations.
Detailed astronomical information tells our growers the best time to sow, cultivate and harvest at the market garden on the Heckfield Estate in Hampshire. The Wildsmith team handpick Calendula, Chamomile, Rose and Lavender, for use in products such as our Stillness Nourishing Body Cleanser.
LEAPING BUNNY
All of our own brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty-Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty-free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.
VEGAN SOCIETY
A number of our products are certified with The Vegan Society and proudly display The Vegan Trademark. Renewed yearly, the trademark is awarded by The Vegan Society once its application against a strict criteria across a range of fields to ensure it meets the highest vegan standards.
